How at risk are Pandas?

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is currently classified as "Vulnerable" on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. This means that the panda is considered to be at high risk of extinction in the wild, but not critically endangered or endangered.

Panda's risk factors include:

•Habitat loss and fragmentation.

• Poaching and the illegal wildlife trade.

•Climate change.

•Diseases such as canine distemper.

Although significant effort has been made to protect giant pandas, they still face threats in their natural habitat and remain highly susceptible to these risks. To ensure the long-term survival of the species, continued conservation measures are critical to address these challenges effectively.
