If nothing is done how soon will koalas be extinct?

Koalas are facing multiple threats to their survival, mainly caused by human activities, leading to rapid population decline in recent years. While it's difficult to provide an exact timeframe for extinction since it depends on several variables, if current trends persist without significant habitat protection, conservation efforts, and mitigation of their challenges, koalas could face a real risk of extinction within a few decades or even less. Several studies and conservation assessments suggest that without comprehensive interventions to address and reverse negative trends, they could face extinction risks within 30-100 years, if not sooner. However, if urgent and effective actions are taken now to support koala populations, address issues such as habitat loss, climate change, and infectious diseases, we can still prevent and reverse their decline into potential extinction.
