What is the only mammal other than a bat which flies?
There is only one other mammal other than a bat that flies - the flying squirrel. While flying squirrels do not fly in the same way that bats do, they are able to glide through the air for distances of up to 150 feet. They do this by using a special membrane of skin that stretches between their front and back legs. When they jump from a tree, the membrane catches the air and allows them to glide to another tree.
