Does a herbivore only eat herbs?
Herbivores are animals that only eat plants. This includes grasses, leaves, fruits, and vegetables. Some herbivores also eat algae and other aquatic plants. While the primary diet of herbivores consists of plants, some species may occasionally consume small amounts of animal matter, such as insects or carrion. This behavior is known as opportunistic omnivory and is not considered a defining characteristic of herbivores.
