Things You'll Need
- Towel
- Plastic
- Glue boards
- Insecticide
Instructions
Eliminate moisture inside your home. Dry the bathtub and shower with a towel after each use. Also, if you have a basement, use a dehumidifier to remove the moisture from the air.
Use caulk or trim to cover any holes or gaps in windows and doors. Humpback crickets are small and can enter through almost any opening.
Avoid putting mulch or blocks all the way up to your home. Leave about a foot between mulch or blocks and your outside walls. Do not put shrubs or ground cover near the outside of your home because it will cause moisture.
Use glue boards on the inside of your home to catch the crickets. Put them in corners and behind appliances. Check the glue boards and replace them if needed.
Place plastic on the ground under your house. Plastic prevents moisture from collecting under your house. Use insecticide granular bits outside of your home to kill the crickets. You can use chemical spray on the foundation of your home and around vents or doors to prevent the humpback crickets from coming inside.
