What do wild pheasant eat?

Pheasants primarily feed on grains and seeds, including those of wheat, barley, oats, corn, and milo. They also consume insects, such as grasshoppers, beetles, and ants, as well as fruits, berries, and leaves. Pheasants use their sharp beaks to peck at the ground and forage for food, and often scratch at the soil to uncover buried seeds and insects. During winter months, when natural food sources may be scarce, pheasants may rely more heavily on cultivated grains and seeds, as well as food provided by bird feeders.
