What do leeches eat in the wild?
In the wild, leeches feed on a wide variety of animals, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Some leeches are even known to feed on fish and other aquatic creatures. Leeches typically attach themselves to their host and suck its blood. Some leeches also secrete an anticoagulant, which prevents the blood from clotting. This allows the leech to feed for longer periods of time.
