How many insects are on the endangered list?
As of my limited knowledge cutoff date in September 2021, there were over 1,000 insect species listed as threatened or endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This includes species such as the monarch butterfly, the rusty patched bumblebee, and the giant stag beetle. However, this number is likely an underestimate, as many insects have not yet been evaluated for their conservation status.
