Where are the one horned rhinoceros found?
One-horned rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis) are native to the Indian subcontinent. They are mainly found in the alluvial grasslands of the Terai region in the southern foothills of the Himalayas in India, Nepal, and Bhutan, as well as the Brahmaputra Valley in Assam and West Bengal in India. The majority of the one-horned rhinoceros population is concentrated in the protected areas of Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam, India, and Chitwan National Park in Nepal. These protected areas provide suitable habitat and conservation measures to ensure the survival of this critically endangered species.
