Instructions
Get bearded dragons young if you have not yet purchased any. Young bearded dragons will learn to socialize without feeling territorial and can live together immediately.
Keep your bearded dragons in separate quarters for three to four months if they are adults. Adults tend to be territorial over newcomers, so keep their sleeping and eating quarters separate for a while.
Give your bearded dragons socializing time each day. Start at an hour or two a day and increase the time each week. Keep a close eye to see how they interact with one another.
Move the bearded dragons into the same quarters when they have formed a social bond. Determine this by noting any physical violence or intimidation used against one another. Once those have stopped for two to three weeks, they can live together.
Watch the bearded dragons closely for two to three weeks after moving them in together. If a bearded dragon is not eating or is keeping away from others, move it back to individual quarters. This behavior implies that the others intimidate it.
How to Combine Bearded Dragons
Bearded dragons are good pets for anyone who can appreciate lizards. They interact with humans in a sociable -- and usually friendly -- manner. However, bearded dragons do not fully correspond socially with any other animal except other bearded dragons. It is suggested that getting more than one bearded dragon will give your bearded dragon a long, healthy and social life.
