Instructions
Lay the leash on a table. Loosen the leash to create a large opening between the harness strap and the cord of the leash.
Lift the lizard out of his cage. Set the reptile on the table and push its head through the opening between the harness strap and the cord for the leash. The lizard's feet should rest on the harness strap at this point.
Place the lizard's front legs gently through the openings in the harness strap.
Pull the cord snug to secure the harness in place, but leave just enough slack so the lizard can move comfortably.
Reverse the process to remove the leash.
How to Put on Lizard Leashes
While it may be a strange concept to some people, some lizard owners take their reptile pets on walks, much in the same way as with a dog. To keep a lizard safe, always put a leash on it for walks, especially when outdoors. Lizard leashes -- available at most large pet supply stores -- have a very basic harness design and can be used for lizards of all sizes. Proper use of a leash keeps the lizard safe and comfortable.
