How big can a male polar bear get?

Male polar bears are among the largest carnivores on Earth, with an average weight of around 350-650 kilograms (770-1430 pounds) and a length of around 2.4-2.6 meters (7.9-8.5 feet). However, some males can grow even larger, with weights exceeding 1000 kilograms (2200 pounds) and lengths of over 3 meters (9.8 feet). The largest polar bear on record was shot in the Kotzebue Sound area of Alaska in 1960 and weighed an incredible 1558 kilograms (3435 pounds).
