Polar bears are the world’s largest bears, but grizzly bears are also sizeable animals. The largest males of both species can outweigh one another, but polar bears are usually heavier on average. For example, the average male polar bear weighs between 772 to 1,543 pounds (350 to 700 kilograms) while the average male grizzly bear weighs 595 to 1,190 pounds (270 to 540 kilograms).
