1. The Barents Sea, including the islands of Svalbard and Franz Josef Land.
2. The Chukchi Sea, between Alaska and Russia.
3. The Beaufort Sea, between Alaska and Canada.
4. The Laptev Sea, between the Taymyr Peninsula and the New Siberian Islands.
5. The Kara Sea, between the Barents Sea and the Laptev Sea.
Polar bears are also found in smaller numbers in the Hudson Bay and James Bay regions of Canada, as well as in the eastern Greenland Sea.
