Wheels
-
Mice love to run on exercise wheels, so put one in the cage if you can. Get a wheel that has a solid bottom and sides to it so they cannot get their paws caught between wires.
Balls
-
Exercise balls can be a safe way for your pet mouse to explore his surroundings. Put him in the ball and let him run around the house. Be careful to avoid any areas where he might fall down stairs or get stuck in a corner.
Tunnels
-
Mice love to tunnel; purchase plastic tunnels at a pet store or make your own from PVC piping or even cardboard paper towel tubes. Another tunneling option is to cut round holes in a box and let them crawl in and out of it.
Climbing Toys
-
Stack and secure a few small boxes and put them in the cage for your mouse to climb on. Provide him with a rope ladder or a hammock hung on the sides and top of his cage for him to explore. Mice love to climb, and this also gives them valuable exercise.
Chewing Toys
-
Mice need to chew, so give them rawhide toys or wood blocks (available at the pet store). Cardboard items such as empty paper towel tubes or cereal boxes can also be used for chewing, and they won't cost you any extra money.

What Are Good Pet Mouse Toys?
Mice are relatively low-maintenance pets since they live in small spaces and require very little in terms of grooming or medical care. They do need entertainment in their lives, however, so you should always provide them with safe toys that are appropriate for them.
