What is the best food for your 7 week old bunny?

A seven-week-old bunny's diet should primarily consist of high-quality alfalfa hay to support its growth and development. Alfalfa hay is abundant in fiber, protein, calcium, and various essential vitamins and minerals that young bunnies need for proper bone growth and overall health. Additionally, you can supplement their diet with a small amount of fresh Timothy hay and a high-quality commercial pellet specially formulated for junior rabbits. These pellets should primarily be made of hay and provide additional nutrients that may not be as abundant in hay alone.

Remember to introduce the pellets gradually and keep them limited, making hay (especially alfalfa during this age) the staple of their diet until they mature (usually around six to eight months old). Fresh, clean water should also be constantly available. Treats should be minimal and used for training or reinforcement. Some examples of occasional treats are dried herbs and greens like basil, dill, thyme, parsley, dandelion greens, etc. (in small quantities). Be sure to thoroughly research any other treats to ensure they are suitable for bunnies before giving them to your fluffy friend.
