How big can a deer get?
The biggest species of deer is the moose. Male moose can reach up to 2.1 metres (6 ft 11 in) at the shoulder and weigh up to 700 kilograms (1,500 lb). The largest ever moose recorded was shot in Alaska in 1897. It was a male moose that stood 2.34 metres (7 ft 8 in) at the shoulder and weighed 825 kilograms (1,819 lb).
