Do rabbits eat both plants and animals?

Rabbits are herbivores, which means they only eat plants. They do not eat animals.

Their diet consists of:

* Grasses: Timothy hay, oat hay, and meadow hay are staple foods.

* Vegetables: Dark leafy greens like kale, spinach, and collard greens, as well as carrots, bell peppers, and zucchini.

* Fruits: Small amounts of fruits like berries, apples, and bananas can be given as treats.

* Pellets: Commercial rabbit pellets provide a balanced diet of nutrients.

While rabbits might nibble on things like twigs and bark, this is more for chewing and dental health rather than a source of sustenance.
