Once they start weaning around 3-4 weeks old, they gradually transition to a diet of soft, green vegetation like:
* Dandelion greens: A favorite of rabbits, high in vitamins and minerals.
* Clover: Another nutritious and palatable option.
* Grass: Young, tender grass is a good source of fiber.
* Plantain: A common weed with nutritional benefits.
* Other leafy greens: Lettuce, spinach, and other leafy greens should be offered in moderation.
It is important to note:
* Never feed wild baby rabbits food meant for domesticated rabbits. The nutritional needs are different.
* Don't force-feed a wild baby rabbit. If it appears healthy and able to move, its mother is likely nearby and providing food.
* If you find an injured or orphaned kit, contact a wildlife rehabilitator. They can provide the proper care and nutrition.
Never attempt to care for a wild baby rabbit yourself. They are delicate creatures with specific dietary and care requirements.
