While regular rabbits typically weigh between 2 and 5 pounds, jackrabbits can grow much larger.
* Black-tailed jackrabbits, the most common type, can weigh up to 8 pounds, with a body length of 18 to 21 inches.
* White-tailed jackrabbits are even larger, reaching up to 10 pounds, with a body length of 20 to 24 inches.
So, while jackrabbits are not the *largest* members of the hare family (that title belongs to the European brown hare, which can weigh over 20 pounds), they are significantly bigger than most rabbits.
