How to Bathe House Rabbits

Unlike their wild counterparts, house rabbits live in the home as affectionate pets. Like any other animal, they may become dirty and need to be cleaned for their own health as well as to keep your home tidy. While bathing a rabbit in water is alarming and potentially harmful to a rabbit, a dry bath allows you to clean the rabbit thoroughly while keeping the animal healthy.

Instructions

    • 1

Spread a large towel out on the ground and place the rabbit on the towel.

    • 2

Position the rabbit on the towel so you can reach the most messy parts. If the rabbit has feces or grime clinging to its legs, turn it on its back.

    • 3

Sprinkle a small amount of cornstarch baby powder on the messy parts and work the powder in with your fingers.

    • 4

Slide the debris out of the rabbit's fur. The cornstarch powder loosens the debris and allows it to be pulled free.

    • 5

Brush your rabbit thoroughly with a soft-tipped brush to remove any remaining dirt or debris.
