How to Make a Home for Wild Baby Rabbits

Stumbling upon a rabbit's nest complete with baby bunnies is one of nature's wonders, sparking the nurturer inside us. Rabbit babies are generally cared for by their mother, who may leave the nest often and return several times a day to feed her babies. If you are sure the bunnies have been abandoned and need care, construct a nest that will mimic that of a wild rabbit's nest.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a small box on its side, leaving its flaps open to provide a space for the babies that is covered but still allows for adequate airflow.

    • 2

Fold a towel and place on the floor of the box. Adjust the towel to fit the entire floor from corner to corner.

    • 3

Place another towel on top of the first, bunching it up for the babies to snuggle into.

    • 4

Place the box in a safe, quiet place, such as a bedroom.

    • 5

If the temperature is below 68 degrees Fahrenheit, place a heating pad on the lowest setting under one side of the box. This will allow the bunny to move to the other side if it gets too warm.
