Contact the breeder. If you are purchasing a rabbit from a breeder, the breeder should have a complete pedigree for the rabbit. In addition, breeders can be a resource in the future if you have any questions about how to breed or show the rabbit.
Inspect the rabbit's pedigree. If you are considering showing or breeding the rabbit, it is important to research its lineage prior to the purchase. According to the ARBA, a complete pedigree will include at least three generations. A rabbit's pedigree will include information about each rabbit including the rabbit's name, ear number, weight, color and registration number.
Request a copy of the pedigree from the breeder. A professional breeder will expect you to request a copy of the pedigree so that you may register the rabbit and for use in showing or breeding the rabbit.
How to Get a Pedigree for a Rabbit

There are many reasons it may become necessary to obtain a rabbit's pedigree including to register a rabbit with the American Rabbit Breeders Association. However, the only way to obtain a rabbit's pedigree is from the rabbit's breeder.
