Instructions
Lay out four 2-by-4's to prepare to construct the bottom frame, laying them at 90-degree angles. You will begin with two short and two long pieces, to form a rectangle.
Use your drill to connect the four 2-by-4's, using two screws per corner.
Construct the top frame in the same fashion and then set the top frame to the side.
Construct the sides of the frame by screwing the four shorter 2-by-4's into the four corners of the bottom frame. Complete the frame by connecting the top frame in the same fashion.
Determine whether you would like one or two doors on your cage. When constructing a larger cage, there may be some advantages to adding a second door to the cage.
Create the door frame. Screw together four of the 3-foot-long 2-by-4's using your drill. If you are going to have two doors, create two frames.
Use your staple gun to begin adding your lengths of wire mesh to the frame. Match your lengths of mesh to the appropriate lengths of frame.
Staple the wire mesh to your door frames.
Use your drill to screw the hinges onto the frame, adding the doors to the rabbit cage.
Screw in your door latches to your door so that you can securely close your cage.
Place hay in the cage and add two large plastic containers underneath to catch refuse.
