Cut 12 wooden planks 2 feet in length; these are used to build the frame. Use a table saw.
Arrange four wooden planks in a square shape. Nail the corners of the planks together using wood nails and a hammer. Use that as the bottom base of the breeding pen. Stand four wooden planks vertically in each corner of the bottom base. Nail the planks through the bottom of the base into the vertical wood planks.

Place the top base over the four vertical planks. Nail through the top of the top base into the vertical wood planks. The frame is built.
Cut thin wire mesh to a width of two feet and a length of eight feet. Wrap the wire mesh on the inside of the frame. It prevents the rabbits from chewing the wood frame. Fasten four wood screws through the wire mesh into each of the vertical planks to secure it. Use a power drill.
Cut a 2-foot-by-2-foot thin wire mesh. Place the wire mesh on the inside of the top of the frame. Fasten four wood screws through the wire mesh into each of the horizontal planks to secure it. Use a power drill.
Place a 2-foot-by-2-foot wire floor on top of the bottom base. Remove the wire floor when cleaning the breeding cage.
Fill the bottom of the cage with a two-inch layer of clean bedding. Use wood shavings for bedding.
Place an oscillating fan aimed toward the inside of the breeding pen during hot weather. If the weather is over 70 degrees F, turn the fan to cool down the breeding pen.
