Things You'll Need
- 20-oz. plastic bottle
- Water
- Dry rabbit food
- Wires
- Shallow dish
- Books or magazines
- Funnel
- Knife
Instructions
Get a 20-oz. plastic soda bottle and clean it with soap and water. Cut a quarter-sized hole in the bottom of the bottle off using a knife and stick the funnel into it. Fill the plastic bottle about one-quarter full with dry rabbit food by pouring it into the funnel. Keep the cap of the bottle on and when you are done filling it remove the funnel.
Position the bottle at a 45-degree angle and push its neck through the wire mesh rabbit cage. Prop the bottom of the bottle up with a stack of books or magazines to maintain the bottle at a 45-degree angle. Get some wire and tie it to the cage on either side of the bottle. Make sure that it rests beneath the bottle so that when you remove the books or magazines the wire catches the bottle, keeping it in place.
Take a shallow dish and put it under the mouth of the bottle.
Remove the cap of the bottle to allow the dry food to spill into the dish. The food will then form a pile that will cover the bottle mouth when it is full, stopping the food from spilling over. As the rabbit eats, the pile will become smaller and, automatically, more rabbit food will spill out from the bottle.
