Instructions
Measure the distance between your hand at your side and how far you want the rabbit to be able to hop. You are better off making a rabbit leash a bit too long, as you can always cut it back. Allow an extra 5 or 6 inches. This gives you enough room to make the loop that goes around your hand and enough room to attach the bolt snap.
Cut or braid your material to the required length. Form the loop and then attach the material with a rivet or two. If you are using braided materials, you can sew the material in place. Stitch tightly and make sure the fabric is well secured.
Run the end of the leash material through the round-eye swivel bolt snap. Fold it back over so there is a loop for you to work with. Hold the material firmly in place and attach with a rivet or stitches .
Measure the thickness of the fabric to determine the size of the rivet you need and then select the right sized hole on the rivet gun. Mark the place where you want to put the rivet with dressmaker's chalk. Align the hole punch directly over the chalk mark.
Squeeze the punch firmly to get a clean punch. Wiggle from side to side to get the rivet has through the fabric. From the back of the fabric, check that the post is through the hole. Hold the rivet firmly and then hit the head of the post with a hammer to flatten it.
Add your own personal touches to the rabbit leash. Attach carrot shaped diamantes to your creation or add a picture of Bugs Bunny just above the bolt snap.
