How to Clean White Rabbits

Rabbits with white fur often appear dirtier than other rabbits because their white coat makes dirt and stain very obvious. Like many other animals, rabbits do not like getting wet and their delicate bodies require you to be careful during the bathing process they can become injured easily in a struggle. You can keep your white rabbit looking clean by bathing and drying it quickly before the wetness becomes intolerable.

Things You'll Need

  • Plastic disposable gloves
  • Plastic disposable glass
  • 3 soft towels
  • Plastic tub
  • Rabbit shampoo
  • Peroxide
  • Cotton wool
  • Hair dryer
  • Rabbit brush or cat slicker
  • Static reducer

Instructions

      Put on disposable gloves.

      Fill the plastic tub with water up to the 1-inch mark. Put rabbit shampoo into the tub and mix well.

      Place one towel in the tub to keep the rabbit from slipping.

      Place the rabbit on the towel. Use the disposable glass to scoop soapy water and pour over the rabbit. Remove dirt, long hair and feces.

      Place another towel on the floor or on a table and place your rabbit on the towel. Drain the soapy water from the tub and fill it with an inch of clean water. Rinse the plastic glass. Put the rabbit in the tub filled with clean water and rinse by scooping clean water with the glass and pouring it over the rabbit.

      Put peroxide in cotton wool and rub on any stubborn stains.

      Dry the fur of the rabbit using a hairdryer with a warm setting. Hold the hairdryer away from the rabbit because of the delicacy of the rabbit's skin.

      Brush the rabbit's clean fur with a rabbit brush to remove any loose hair. Lightly dampen your hands and rub the rabbit gently to remove any loose hair. Keep rubbing until all the loose hair is removed.

      Rub static reducer to remove any remaining loose fur.
