Things You'll Need
- Rabbit cage
- Water bottle
- Litter box
- Pine shavings
- Wood chips
- Chew toys
Instructions
Line the floor of a large cage with newspaper. Smooth the newspaper out to prevent lumps and change it every four days to keep the cage fresh and to minimize odors.
Fill the bottom of your rabbit's cage with hay. Spread it evenly on top of the newspaper filling the bottom 2 inches of the cage. As your rabbit eats the hay, add more to his cage.
Place a small litter box with pine shavings in the far corner of the cage. Place your rabbit's food bowl and water bottle at the opposite end of the cage. The water bottle may leak, so do not sit your rabbit's food bowl directly underneath it.
Put chew toys and wood chips in the cage to entertain your rabbit and to satisfy his urge to chew.
Avoid placing your rabbits cage in an isolated corner. Place the cage in an area with regular activity and natural lighting.
