How to Build Cube Cages for Rabbits

Animal cages are often too small compared to the recommended footage for the animal. In this case, a rabbit should have adequate room to hop around the cage. Few commercial cages offer this space. Cube cages allow you to customize the size and shape of your cages for one or multiple rabbits, making the structures the ultimate cage option. Cube cages are easy to make and require few materials.

Instructions

    • 1

Design your cage on paper to be sure you have enough squares of Coroplast.

    • 2

Use two zip ties to hold two squares together. One on the top, one on the bottom.

    • 3

Measure the dimensions of the cage. Draw them on the Coroplast.

    • 4

Add three inches to all sides of the dimensions for the Coroplast.

    • 5

Cut the sheet of Coroplast to the dimensions of the cage plus three inches on all sides.

    • 6

Cut a straight line on the Coroplast from the drawing of the cage area through the three inches at the ends of the cage area.

    • 7

Fold up the outside three inches of the Coroplast. Tape the overlapping ends. The Coroplast should form a box to place inside the cube cage. Fill with bedding.
