Instructions

  1. Build a Wire Rabbit Cage

    • 1

Make a large wall by laying out nine unassembled squares of wire from storage cube kits and attaching with loose cable ties. Repeat.

    • 2

Make the two smaller walls by laying down six squares of wire and attaching loosely with cable ties. Repeat. There will be two remaining squares of wire that can be disposed of.

    • 3

Connect the four walls together and manipulate the cage into the shape that you would like.

    • 4

Add two dowels along the inside length of the cage where you would like the shelves to be. These are to prevent the shelving from falling.

    • 5

Slide the plywood shelves onto the dowels.

    • 6

Tighten the cable ties and cut off the ends.

    • 7

Attach the wooden dowels to the wires with more cable ties and cut off the ends.

    • 8

Make a cage door by cutting off the ties around one or two squares of wire on one side and above. A small spring clamp can be used to keep this door locked by the edge of the door to the connecting square of wire.

    • 9

Add furnishing to the cage. Most rabbits are comfortable with towels laid out on the shelves for bedding, toys, a litter pan and dishes for food and water. Proper chew toys can prevent the rabbit from chewing at the cable ties.
