Can you give long ear rabbits baths?

Long-eared rabbits, such as lop rabbits and angora rabbits, do not require regular baths and, in fact, bathing can do more harm than good. Bathing a long-eared rabbit can disrupt the natural pH balance of their skin, making them more susceptible to skin infections. It can also strip the coat of its natural oils, making it dry and susceptible to breakage.

A better way to keep your long-eared rabbit clean is to spot clean any soiled areas with a damp cloth.

Here are some general tips for keeping your long-eared rabbit clean and healthy:

- Check your rabbit's nails and trim them regularly, especially if they seem too long or start to curl upward. This prevents ingrown toenails and foot infections.

- Brush your rabbit's coat regularly to remove loose hair and prevent a matted coat. Be careful not to pull or pluck long or sensitive tufts from around the cheeks and whiskers.

- Maintain their environment clean, which includes their house, litter box bedding, and play areas.
