Do cougars or lions kill bears?
While rare, cougars and mountain lions have occasionally been known to kill bears. In situations like this, it's generally the smaller bears, such as North American black bears and Asiatic black bears, that fall prey to cougars. Lions, found primarily in Africa and parts of Asia, have been observed killing bears in predatory acts, but such instances are uncommon and depend on the specific circumstances and the respective size of both species involved.
