How many stomachs do deers have?
Deer have four stomachs. They are called the rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum. The rumen is the largest stomach and it stores food. The reticulum is also called the "honeycomb" stomach because it has a honeycomb-like lining. It helps to break down food. The omasum is the third stomach and it absorbs water from food. The abomasum is the fourth stomach and it is similar to the human stomach. It produces acids and enzymes that break down food.
