When are baby bunnies born?
Rabbits breed several times a year, with most births occurring in the spring and summer. The gestation period for rabbits is about 30-31 days, and pregnant does will typically give birth to a litter of 5-12 kits. The kits will be born blind and helpless, and they will open their eyes about 10 days after birth. They will start to eat solid food about 2-3 weeks after birth, and they will be weaned by 6-8 weeks of age. Rabbits are precocial species, which means that they are born relatively well-developed and are able to move around and feed themselves soon after birth. They will reach sexual maturity at about 3-6 months of age, and they can start breeding as early as 4 months of age.
