What are Herbivores?
Herbivores are animals that primarily eat plants. This includes:
* Grasses: Many animals graze on grasses, like cows, horses, zebras, and antelope.
* Leaves: Elephants, giraffes, and koalas are examples of animals that eat leaves.
* Fruits: Monkeys, parrots, and some bats enjoy fruits.
* Seeds: Birds like finches and sparrows, as well as squirrels, eat seeds.
* Roots: Pigs and rodents often dig up roots for food.
Examples of Herbivores
Here are some examples of herbivores, grouped by their diet:
* Grazers: Cows, horses, sheep, goats, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, antelope
* Browsers: Elephants, deer, giraffes, koalas, rabbits
* Frugivores (Fruit Eaters): Monkeys, parrots, bats, squirrels
* Granivores (Seed Eaters): Birds (finches, sparrows), squirrels, rodents
* Root Eaters: Pigs, rodents
Important Note: Some animals can be herbivores, but they might occasionally eat insects or small animals. This doesn't make them omnivores, as the majority of their diet is plant-based.
