What is a komodo Dragons cell type?

The Komodo dragon is the world's largest lizard and is endemic to the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores and Gili Motang. Komodo dragons have a unique cell type called the "Komodo dragon blood cell" (KDBC). KDBCs are a type of white blood cell that is found in the blood of Komodo dragons and is responsible for their unique ability to kill bacteria. KDBCs contain a powerful antimicrobial peptide called cathelicidin, which is able to kill a wide range of bacteria. This makes Komodo dragons resistant to many of the diseases that affect other lizards and animals. KDBCs are also found in the saliva of Komodo dragons and are thought to help them kill their prey.
