How to Make a Hamster Feed Dispenser

Making a hamster feeding dispenser at home can double as a great arts and craft project for kids and a way to mentally stimulate your hamster. Although a hamster feeding dispenser made from paper cups will not last forever, it is a quick, fun, cheap and easy to make.

Things You'll Need

  • 2 small paper cups
  • Scotch tape
  • Scissors
  • String

      Take one paper cup and vertically cut an inch thick slice out of the cup. Take this slice and tape it horizontally over the bottom portion of the inch gap.

      Cut the bottom out of the of the second cup and place it inside the first cup, leaving a half inch of space inside for the food to travel. Tape the second cup to the first cup to make sure it does not move.

      Locate the horizontal piece on the first cup. Take the scissors and cut two small vertical slits spanning an inch apart on the taped piece, making a little flap door for the hamster to retrieve the food. Use the scissors to punch two small adjacent holes at the top of the second cup and thread with string to hang the feeding device in the cage.
