How do skunks make there homes?

Skunks don't really "make" their homes in the same way humans do. They are den animals, meaning they rely on existing spaces for shelter. Here's how they find their homes:

* Burrows: They often take over abandoned burrows made by other animals like groundhogs, rabbits, or foxes. These burrows provide protection from the elements and predators.

* Hollow Logs: Skunks sometimes use hollow logs, tree roots, or even rock crevices as dens.

* Under Structures: They might also find shelter under sheds, decks, porches, or even basements, especially if there are openings for them to squeeze in.

Skunks will line their den with soft materials like leaves, grass, or fur to make it more comfortable. They use their dens for sleeping, raising their young, and escaping danger.

Remember, skunks are solitary animals, except during mating season or while raising their young. They typically have a home range of about 1-2 acres, which they will defend from other skunks.
