What is a predator of the skunk?

Skunks have a few predators, but their strong defense mechanism (spraying a foul-smelling liquid) makes them a less desirable meal for most animals. Here are some of their predators:

* Large Canids: Wolves, coyotes, and large dogs can overpower a skunk and avoid the spray.

* Big Cats: Mountain lions and bobcats are known to prey on skunks, especially when food is scarce.

* Birds of Prey: Great horned owls and other large owls are powerful enough to kill and eat skunks.

* Other Predators: Raccoons, foxes, and even bears have been known to eat skunks, although they tend to avoid them if possible.

It's important to note that most predators avoid skunks whenever possible due to their powerful defense.
