Prevention
Examine your home for baby skunks. Check in window wells, under decks or other covered areas.
Pour a cup of flour in front of a hole that might contain baby skunks. Let the flour sit for one day. Reexamine the flour to see if there are any paw prints.
Cover the hole with wire mesh. Cut the wire mesh to the dimensions of the hole. Apply a layer of silicone caulk around the edges of the wire mesh. Let the silicone caulk dry for six hours.
Live Trap
Place a live trap in areas where baby skunks have been seen. If the baby skunks' location is unknown, place the trap near the side of your house or garage.
Lift and set the trap door. Place bait such as fruit, earthworms or other small insects inside. The trap door will swing down to trap the animal after it steps on the trigger inside to get at the bait.
Call your local animal control center to safely relocate the baby skunks after you have trapped them.
