Things You'll Need
- Vinegar
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 qt. 3 percent solution hydrogen peroxide solution
- 1-tsp. dish washing liquid
- Soap
- Large mixing container
- Commercial skunk odor remover
Instructions
Vinegar and Water
Mix equal measures of water and vinegar.
Soak the affected area of skin with the solution, and repeat if the odor remains after initial treatment.
Wash away the remaining vinegar solution with soap and water.
Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide
Prepare 1/4 cup baking soda with 1 qt. hydrogen peroxide and 1 tsp. dish washing liquid in a large container. The mixture will produce a lot of foam and oxygen bubbles.
Apply the mixture to the site of skunk spray carefully, avoiding the eyes, nose and mouth.
Rinse thoroughly with clean water and wash or shower with a soap-based product.
Commercial Skunk Odor Remover
Purchase a professional skunk odor remover from the pet store.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for safe application.
Avoid sensitive body parts and do not use on broken skin or open wounds.
