Kansas is home to the world's largest ball of twine.
Located in Cawker City, Kansas, the ball currently weighs over 17,400 pounds and measures over 12 feet in diameter. It was started in 1953 by Frank Stoeber, who rolled twine around a spool of barbed wire. When he passed away in 1974, the ball weighed 6,000 pounds. The ball has continued to grow with the help of donations and visitors, who can add their own string or yarn.
