Do grizzly bears eat garter snakes?

While grizzly bears are opportunistic omnivores and will eat a wide variety of foods, garter snakes are unlikely to be a significant part of their diet.

Here's why:

* Size: Garter snakes are relatively small compared to a grizzly bear. A grizzly bear would need to consume a large number of snakes to make a meaningful meal.

* Availability: Grizzly bears live in habitats where garter snakes might not be abundant.

* Preference: Grizzlies prefer larger prey like elk, deer, fish, and berries. Snakes are not a primary food source.

However: It's possible a grizzly bear might eat a garter snake if it came across one and was hungry enough. But it's not a common occurrence.
