Instructions
Wash your hands thoroughly and make sure that they are completely dry. Next, gently support the snake´s lower coils, in order to start moving it out of its cage. This will allow the snake to slowly move towards your arm and prevent it from becoming aggressive.
Hold the snake with both hands and support its body in a horizontal position. Once out of its cage, the snake should calmly perch over your hands.
Move your hands slowly under the snake, allowing it to move without firm restraint. It's important to remain calm at all times, because green tree pythons will sometimes aggressively respond to perceived anxiety. .
Hold the snake gently and limit your movements. Your green tree python must feel like it is simply resting on a natural branch or rocky perch, rather than being handled by a potential predator.
Place your snake back in its cage after a few minutes. These snakes can only tolerate handling for short periods of time before they invariably become unsettled and potentially dangerous.
