Instructions
Take your emerald tree boas to a veterinarian to make sure they are mature and healthy enough to breed. Emerald tree boas can carry worms that the female can pass on to its young, leading to death of the offspring.
Breed your emerald tree boas between late autumn and early spring. Lower the temperature in the snakes̵7; separate cages by four to six degrees about a month before you plan to put them together to mate. Increase the humidity to about 90 percent.
Place the male emerald tree boa in the female̵7;s habitat and allow the male to court the female. Keep the male in the female̵7;s cage for one month. This helps ensure that the snakes will mate several times and produce more young as a result.
Keep your pregnant female emerald tree boa in a separate enclosure for the length of its pregnancy. Provide it with a heat lamp and a perch and do not overstress it with too much handling or forced feedings. The boa will give birth in 240 to 260 days.
Remove baby emerald tree boas from the female̵7;s cage shortly after they are born and place them in separate cages. Monitor their feeding and development closely. Most baby emerald tree boas will begin to eat small mice after they shed their first skin at one to two weeks of age.
