How to Treat a Burn on a Ball Python

Ball pythons are a wonderful and entertaining pet that are easy to care for and can happily live their lives in just a 20-gallon glass aquarium. Never let the python be exposed to temperatures over 90 degrees. This could cause a burn. Ball pythons are not as sensitive on their bellies as they are in other places.

Things You'll Need

  • Betadine or hydrogen peroxide
  • Distilled water
  • Neosporin or Polysporin
  • Cotton swab

Instructions

      Mix one part Betadine solution or hydrogen peroxide with two parts distilled water.

      Pour solution over burned area. Do this twice a day until burn is healed.

      Put Neosporin or Polysporin on a cotton swab.

      Swab the burn are with Neosporin or Polysporin twice a day until the burn is healed. This will help ensure the burn does not become infected.
