Things You'll Need
- Small Kritter Keeper box
- Paper towel or napkin
- Children's butterfly net
- Misting water bottle
Instructions
Place the spider in a Kritter Keeper box. The box should offer enough space for the spider to crawl.
Place a slightly crumpled napkin or paper towel in the Kritter Keeper Box. The spider can make its resting sac within the folds of the napkin.
Keep the Kritter Keeper box in a shady place that gets a little direct sunlight for a few hours a day. Too much direct sunlight burns jumping spiders.
Feed the spider with small insects like flies and crickets. You can catch flies and crickets with a net butterfly catcher and drop the insects directly into the Kritter Keeper. Remove insect shells once the spider finishes eating the insect or the Kritter keeper will soon develop a foul odor.
Quench the thirst of the spider by spraying water through a misting bottle every day. Too much water will suffocate the spider. Spiders can drown in larger puddles of water.
