How high and far can a flea jump?

Fleas are incredible jumpers! They can jump up to 100 times their own height, which is about 7.5 inches for a typical flea.

They can also jump 100 times their own body length, which translates to approximately 13 inches for a typical flea.

This means a flea can jump about the length of a human hand!

Fun Fact: Fleas don't actually "jump" in the way we understand. They use a catapult-like mechanism in their legs to launch themselves into the air.
