Do squirrels live on the beach?

Generally, squirrels don't live on beaches. Here's why:

* Food sources: Squirrels primarily feed on nuts, seeds, and sometimes insects. Beaches don't offer these readily available food sources.

* Habitat: Squirrels need trees for shelter, nesting, and foraging. Beaches typically lack the dense tree cover that squirrels rely on.

* Predators: Beaches can be exposed environments, making squirrels vulnerable to predators like birds of prey.

However, there are some exceptions:

* Coastal forests: Squirrels might live in coastal forests that border beaches, venturing out to the sandy areas occasionally.

* Urban areas: In some urban areas, squirrels might adapt to living near beaches, especially if they have access to food sources like bird feeders.

Overall, while you might see a squirrel on the beach occasionally, they are not typically found living there permanently.
